In remembrance of Prof. Dr. Hans-Walter Hennicke,
the DKG has been awarding the Hans-Walter Hennicke Lecture Competition Award since 1995.
With this prize, we honor the best lectures of young ceramists and academics on the topics of their final thesis.

Requirements for participation in the contest:

It is possible that you will be asked your application to be submitted to a jury.

Multiple applications from one research or academic institution; only one candidate can be admitted to the competition. The Program committee will ask the head of the research or university institution to a personal decision in this case.

All applicants will be informed by the DKG about admission to the competition by email.

  • Participation is open to all graduates whose diploma or master examinations, or comparable final examinations in the field of raw materials / ceramics at a college, academy or university, date back no longer than one year.
  • Short abstract, slides and presentation only in English, please. Presentation time exactly 15 minutes (or shorter, following the decision of the Program Committee), followed by a discussion of
    5 minutes. Keeping to the speaking times is an important assessment criterion for the DKG.
  • Assessment criteria: content, structure and visual presentation, imagery, presentation style, timekeeping, discussion.
  • Assessment procedure: The jury awards 1 to 4 points, so a presenter can reach a maximum of 24 points.
  • A laptop and a beamer will be made available to each speaker. If you need other means and tools for your lecture, please contact the DKG office in advance: congress@dkg.de
  • Please use only our congress management system at www.2016.dkg.de to apply. You need to hand in:
    - Full name, topic of lecture (short abstract)
    - The name of the establishment where you completed the thesis,
      date of the examination.
    - Your complete contact information with phone number, fax
      number and e-mail address. (If some of the information is
      missing, your application cannot be taken into account.)

    - Short abstract-summary with a max. of 1.500 characters / max.
